A local hero? Perhaps.
Just doing her job? Definitely.
Bonnie works for the city parks department and part of her job is walking around city parks every morning and picking up the trash.
It’s definitely not a glamorous job but it’s so necessary. Unfortunately, a lot of city parks see some unsavoury activity during the nighttime hours. That’s not an issue specific to Thunder Bay; it happens all over.
I do notice a difference though, after the city workers have been by. Less glass, less trash, less cigarette butts.
