She was here…
And then… as I was getting to know her…
She left!
But that’s ok. She’s certainly been through a lot; she’s allowed to leave and start the next chapter of her life.
About six years ago, Lindsay came to Thunder Bay because her husband accepted a job here. Unfortunately, they ended up getting divorced, but Lindsay really liked the area so she decided to stay put!
Funny story: Lindsay always wanted to move to Thunder Bay. She was raised in a small town outside of London Ontario, but drove through Thunder Bay with her dad when she was 18. She says she knew then that she’d be back!
Lindsay says even though she ended up getting divorced, moving to Thunder Bay was a great move, “I met tons of cool people, I was introduced to the resiliency of the north, and I got a chance to work and study at Lakehead University.”
Although we weren’t close, Lindsay has always been a big supporter of my little home art business. Before she left, she came by to pick up one of my culty coffee cups, a special commission for a fellow lover of all things creepy.
In this case, it’s a Marshall Applewhite mug. He was the leader of the Heaven’s Gate cult, which imploded in an infamous mass suicide in 1997. Here’s the Wikipedia link if you’re interested in losing your day to a wiki wormhole of awful information!
Lindsay is back in Southern Ontario now, looking for work, and enjoying new adventures with her partner Aaron (who is from Thunder Bay!).
Thank you Lindsay, for everything! I hope you come back one day. Thunder Bay is going to miss you.
