Leah Morningstar is a third generation Canadian, descended from hard working Finnish and Belgian settlers. She is grateful to have grown up surrounded by nature and beauty on the traditional lands of the Ojibway people under the Robinson-Superior Treaty of 1850. Leah lives with her partner, three sons, two neurotic cats, and a very old lady turtle.
Leah attended Lakehead University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English and a certification in Palliative Care. She worked at the hospital, the casino, and an addiction treatment centre prior to becoming a full time artist, writer, and stay-at-home-mom.
Leah is often busy with her boys, but she fills her days and finds joy through many creative outlets: this blogging space, drawing, writing, and modelling under the name Maple Whiskey Pinup Girl.
